AGRA: Those having an account in head post offices in the city will soon be able to avail of e-banking facility in Agra. It will help the account holders to make transaction online as in banks.
According to official sources, the facility will begin under India Post Payment Bank.
Assistant director of India Post, Agra region, RB Tripathi said, “Currently, e-banking is being run on a trial basis and will soon commence in the head post offices in Pratapura, Bizlighar and Sanjay Place.” The facility of e-banking will be extended to account holders of India Post at these post offices, he added.
An official source said generally account holders have to visit the post office concerned to withdraw their money but after the introduction of e-banking, they will be able to make transactions online.
“It will save time of account holders as well as reduce paper work at the department. Many times office-goers and the elderly face problems while visiting post offices but after the commencement of e-banking facility, they can operate their accounts from their mobile or laptop through Internet,” said a saving bank account holder Shakeel Rafiq here.
